PicPerf Can Now Host Your Images

From the get-go, PicPerf optimized images purely through proxying the ones you already have. It’s been a great option for those want a truly “drop-in” experience. No need to move or prepare your images. Just prefix ‘em (optionally using one of the supported integrations).

But for others, that’s not always been suitable, citing good reasons to not simply proxy those images. For new projects, or just for simplicity’s sake, they prefer it to be as “all-in-one” as possible. Not everyone is interested in hosting images on their own and relying on PicPerf for optimizing them. Sometimes, centralization’s a good thing.

Introducing: PicPerf Image Hosting

For these reasons, PicPerf now offers integrated image hosting. Just log in, and drag as many images as you need to optimize. They’ll be immediately queued for optimization, and you’ll get the prepared URL right away, instantly ready to use on your website.

Of course, proxied optimizations aren’t going anywhere. In fact, you can use them both if it suites your needs. You’ll be prompted with your options. The choice is up to you, even if it’s a mixture of the two.

The Same, Boring Pricing Approach

Just like proxied images, you’re able to serve as many as 500 unique hosted images each month. After that, it’s $.02 per unique image. Request count doesn’t matter. For example, you could serve 501 unique images 7,342,312 times in a single month, and you’d still only be charged your flat, monthly rate, plus $.02 for that one extra image.
